Advanced Acting

Grades 9-12 2nd Semester [EVEN YEARS] 1 credit
Advanced Acting is a theatrical arts course designed for students who are heavily interested in theatre and the performing arts who want to engage in more challenging acting scenes and performance material. The class extends the learning from Introduction to Speech & Acting and places a major emphasis on script analysis and character motivation within complex scenes, both classic and contemporary. Material may include Shakespearean texts, period pieces, dramatic monologues, etc. Time is also spent helping students prepare for theatrical activities and auditions in college and beyond. This course is offered for elective credit.
